This year Boynton Beach's first brewery, Due South Brewing Co., will celebrate nine years of beers with a special three-day weekend event.

"We're filling the taps, bringing back favorites from throughout the years, and creating new unique beers for this beer-centered shindig," says Due South Brewing Brand Marketing Manager Doug Fairall.

This week, join Due South Brewing founders Mike and Jodi Halker — and the entire Due South team —in celebrating their anniversary. Starting Friday, May 14, the Boynton Beach brewery will feature a massive tap takeover with 25-plus beers on draft, many of which have undergone specialty treatments. Some are fan favorites that make a rare appearance once or twice a year, while others only show up on anniversary day — and still more that will be making their official draft debut this weekend.

"Just over ten years ago, Jodi and I decided to turn our Due South dream into a reality," recounts Mike Halker. "At the time, we had no idea our brewery would turn into what it is today. From the support of our community — especially through the pandemic — to our fantastic team of folks here at Due South, we've been incredibly fortunate. Each year just keeps getting better."

Newest to the brewery's suds lineup: this year's Honey Vanilla Wheat, an American-style wheat ale brewed with 100 pounds of local Palmetto honey from Palm Beach Creamed Honey, finished with vanilla.

"Combined, the ingredients create an effortlessly enjoyable brew with a clean brightness from honey, pillowy mouthfeel from the wheat, and a subtle sweetness from vanilla," says Fairall. "This beer is a favorite of our locals. Whenever we brew this special beer, we source honey made by bees in South Florida. The result is not only better from a flavor perspective, creating a unique terroir with ingredients, but also from an environmental and economic perspective. We’re not shipping honey from out of state and eating up all that fuel, and we’re also supporting another local business."

Find it on draft during the anniversary in addition to the brewery's full core and seasonal lineup, along with familiar one-off favorites like Calling All Cars Coffee Donut Porter, Tangerine Cat 3 IPA, Ghost Ship Imperial Stout (a blend of bourbon barrel-aged Mr. Crowley Barleywine and Mariana Trench Imperial Stout), and Cinnamon Roll Mariana Trench. Or keep an eye out for all-new specialtry treatments like the Toasted Coconut Caramel Cream Ale and Saigon Coastline Lager (lime, cucumber, and jalapeno) or their newest seasonal brew — the Honey Vanilla Wheat — treated with strawberry.

Several food trucks will also be onsite throughout the weekend including Krazy Cuban Flavor (Friday), Gimme Grillin' (Saturday), and D&D Bistro Shack (Sunday). The brewery will be open Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
