The massive salaries are prone to high taxes, and that's why they are always divided into 3 parts: base salary, stocks, and bonuses.

Junior Engineers
Even though most of these people have 0-2 years of experience, the numbers can be pretty big.
The average salary for LinkedIn engineers is $180k. Base salary is $122k, stocks are $42, while bonuses are $16k. Pretty good, right?
It's a bit less in Apple, but it's still a massive salary with an average of $177k. The base is $129k, stocks $27k, and bonuses $19k.

Things slightly change for more experienced roles.

The average salary for this role in LinkedIn is $212k. The base is $142k, stocks $52k, bonuses $17k.
Engineers in Apple have an average salary of $220k. The base is $148k, stocks $53k, and bonuses $17k.
Senior Engineer
Ok, now we're already in the quite high league. People here have 5-20 years of experience, and most of them stop at this level.
LinkedIn engineers earn $298k on average. The base is $173k, stocks $106k, bonuses $18k.
Apple engineers earn more for this role - $318k on average. The base is $183k, stocks $110k, and bonuses £25k.

Senior Staff Engineers
It's not enough. You're a top-notch engineer in the world, and you deserve the highest possible compensation. People here have something from 10, up to 35+ years of experience.
Just a few engineers will come to this role.
The average LinkedIn salary is $662k. The base is $251k, stocks $322k, bonuses $88k; while the highest one is $780k.
Apple wins in this category with $719k as an average salary. The base is $269k, stocks $383k, bonuses $66k. The biggest salary here is a massive $828k!
