Wouldn’t it be nice to break away from reality and to live off in a dreamland from time to time?

After this past year, most of us could use a bit of a break from the norm.

Well, with the upcoming Enchanted Dream Fairyland Festival right here in Tucson, all of that is possible. At least for a couple of hours.

Taking place on Sunday, May 23 at 1501 N. Houghton Road here in Tucson and running from 1 PM until 5 PM, this is the perfect opportunity to have some fun and break from everything else going on. It’s also a family-friendly event, perfect for the child at heart in everyone.

The festival takes place in the lush garden, right next to the small lake at Houghton Road. Throughout the grounds (and the water) you’ll find everything from mermaids to unicorns and even fairy princesses. And for children, there will be a fair parade, treasure hunt, and mermaids will be granting wishes.

Looking for a little more from your Enchanted Dream Fairyland Festival? Don’t worry, they have you covered. There will be carriage rides, aft workshops, food stalls, photo opportunities, some boutique shopping as well as craft workshops and hair-do stations.

This is also a dress-up festival (if you want). If you or your child have favorite characters and want to dress up, by all means do so. This is supposed to be a fun event and sometimes nothing is better than letting everyone get dressed up and spend the afternoon with unicorns and mermaids.

Tickets are $10 a person, although children 12 months of age and younger are allowed in for free. Parking is also free for the event.

In case you are not familiar with Enchanted Dream Parties, the organization puts on themed events for children throughout Arizona once a month. Times have been challenging for children of late, as many have not been able to spend time with friends or partake in regular sporting events. This is a challenge for children who, in their very nature, are curious and want to take the world. In. Enchanted Dream Parties wants to help give a little bit back to both children and families.

For friends up in the greater Phoenix area, the organization will be putting on a Mermaid and Pirate Party the following week on Saturday, March 29. And, in case you are curious, the group also puts on wedding events, if you are interested in a themed wedding (because who says you need to grow up and not have a prince and princess-themed wedding?).

One of the best ways to stay up to date on any upcoming events Enchanted Dream Parties is putting on here in Tucson is to follow them on Facebook. Here you can not only find out about upcoming events and activities, but it is a great way to see photographs of what to expect from the events. The unicorn photos are especially fan-favorites thanks to the inclusion of miniature horses, which make the animals that much more approachable for children.

The $10 tickets can be purchased directly through this website. The event will take place outside so social distancing requirements will be easily maintained. There is no set limit to the number of people who can attend, but it is recommended that you not only purchase your ticket early but that you arrive at the beginning of the event. The different activities for the day are scheduled out and you won’t want to miss any of them.

So, if you’re looking for a bit of fun in a dreamland right around the corner, check out the Enchanted Dream Fairyland Festival.
