(SAN FRANCISCO) A San Francisco police officer was involved in a shooting on Friday, the San Francisco Police Department said in a tweet.

The shooting occurred at 12:48 p.m. on Varney Place near Third Street.

It is unclear how the officer was involved.

Police say traffic will likely be delayed in the area.
