It's not everyday you see a cafe in New York that is owned by a Black woman while casually walking through the streets, but Allison Dunn, a Jamaican and owner of Hibiscus Brew, has everything to be proud of. New York has some really trendy cafes and there's a new addition located in Brooklyn that's worth visiting. It's called Hibiscus Brew.
Hibiscus Brew - A Pandemic Success Story
While many people unfortunately lost their jobs or businesses when the pandemic hit, Allison of Hibiscus Brew made the brave choice of starting her own coffee shop business and opening up in the summer of 2020, right in the middle of it.
While we know it seems like a weird time to start a new business – we know this. We love this community and feel like feeding it though this unprecedented time just makes sense! - Allison
You can't be surprised by her bold move, with a background in marketing and experience in Product Marketing, Allison was made for a challenge this big and also has all it takes to make it worth the risk.
