(ATLANTA) Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert Manfried announced on Friday that the 2021 All-Star Game will be moved out of Atlanta following new state's voting restriction law, according to Axios.

"Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box," Manfried said in a statement.

He said the decision was made after "thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views."

MLB's decision comes amid 72 Black business leaders and Atlanta-based corporations decrying the legislation which limits the number of drop-boxes, enacting new voter ID requirements and prohibiting giving food and water to voters waiting in line.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp rejected the growing outcry on Thursday.

Manfried said a new host city and details about the All-Star Game will be announced "shortly."
