(RALEIGH, N.C.) North Carolina will move into the first part of Group 4 of its COVID-19 vaccine rollout Wednesday, according to CBS17.

More than 4.1 million people, including those with high-risk medical conditions, homeless people and people imprisoned, will all become eligible. According to WCNC, the medical conditions could consist of things like asthma, diabetes and obesity, and Group 4 will also include additional essential workers, such as retail employees and utility workers.

Some counties have already begun vaccinating people in Group 4 while others work to finish off their existing waitlists.

Gov. Roy Cooper said last week people will not be required to provide proof of a high-risk medical condition to schedule an appointment.

“A lot of that was considered. But, I think we found out early in the process, the less cumbersome we make this process, that we get you in and get you your shot and get you out, the better off we are,” he said. “We’re gonna rely on people’s good judgment and their knowledge of their own medical condition.”

The next and final group, Group 5, will include everyone else not already vaccinated and will include around 3.5 million people.
