(DURHAM, NC) Duke’s men’s basketball team has been forced to exit the ACC Tournament after a member of their program tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced Thursday.

Duke (13-11, 9-9) was scheduled to play Florida State in the ACC quarterfinals Thursday night.

Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reports that the member who tested positive was a walk-on player.

The abrupt ending to the Blue Devils’ ACC Tournament bid does not bode well for the team’s hopes at making the March Madness tournament next week, as many experts placed Duke on the bubble.

After beating Louisville on Wednesday, Duke moved into Joe Lunardi's Next Four Out in his Bracketology. But the Blue Devils likely needed to beat Florida State and perhaps win another game in the tournament to receive an at-large bid on Selection Sunday.

FSU will automatically advance to the semifinals and play the winner of Thursday's matchup between North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
