With that as the unavoidable backdrop, the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE) has announced the election of 32 of Connecticut’s leading experts in science, engineering, medicine, and technology to membership in the Academy.

Election to CASE is on the basis of scientific and engineering distinction achieved through significant contributions in theory or applications, as demonstrated by original published books and papers, patents, the pioneering of new and developing fields and innovative products, outstanding leadership of nationally recognized technical teams, and external professional awards in recognition of scientific and engineering excellence.

CASE is a private, nonprofit, public-service institution patterned after the National Academy of Sciences. The Academy identifies and studies issues and technological advances that are or should be of concern to the people of Connecticut, and provides unbiased, expert advice on science- and technology-related issues to state government and other Connecticut institutions.

The new members will be introduced at the Academy’s 46th Annual Meeting - to be held virtual this year - on May 27, 2021.  The 32 newly elected members are:

CASE was chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1976 to provide expert guidance on science and technology to the people and to the state of Connecticut, and to promote the application of science and technology to human welfare and economic well-being.For more information about the Academy, please visit http://www.ctcase.org
