Unpopular Opinion Alert! You may be doing this core exercise WRONG!
Most peopoe think they need to flatten their spines to the ground in a supine (laying face up) position. Come at me pilates instructors!!
Now why on EARTH would we promote incorrect spinal alignment? Uur spines are meant to be curvy. SO we should maintain those curves while practicing any supine position. Well, most anyway.
If we’re flattening our spine our pelvis will be in a posterior tilt which is not a neutral position. In most supine positions, excluding maybe a hollow hold, we want to strive for a neutral pelvis and neutral spine.
You should aim to have a bit of space between your lower back and the ground, which depending of your body might look a little different from person to person! Now maintain that position throughout your exercise while fully engaging your core!
