The Oakland Athletics will have the services of shortstop Elvis Andrus and a second player next season after acquiring them in exchange for Khris Davis and a couple of prospects in a Saturday trade, sources told ESPN.

The A's will also earn $13.5 million and minor league catcher Aramis Garcia in the trade, while catcher Jonah Heim and right-hander Dane Acker will join the Rangers.

Andrus, 32, leaves Texas after 12 seasons there — he was the last player to remain on the squad after the team's two World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Andrus played in less than half of the abbreviated 60-game 2020 season due to back issues and recorded a .194 batting average with three home runs and seven RBIs. He has $28.5 million left on his contract for the next two seasons, per ESPN.

His career numbers sit at .274 with 76 dingers, 636 RBIs and 305 stolen bases.

Andrus is likely to replace Marcus Semien at shortstop after he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Davis, 33, swung for 218 career home runs in eight seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and A's. He had the most home runs in the league in 2018 with 48, but only hit two through 30 games in 2020.

Davis's batting average finished at .247 for four seasons in a row before dipping to .220 in 2019 and .200 in the coronavirus-affected season.

The Athletic broke the news on the trade between the A's and Rangers.
