Mock meat can be a great alternative if you're lookin for some high protein options that don't harm the enviornment, the animals, or your health. For me, I've been vegan for over 4 years now, and just recently I've had to go gluten free for my gut health. There's plenty of reasons why one might go gluten free or vegan, but regardless of the reason, being a gluten free vegan certainly has it's challenges.
Some of my favorite vegan indulgences are fried chi'kn and waffles, pancakes, sausages, burgers, seitan and broccoli over rice, and many more. All vegan, none gluten free. You see, a lot of mock meats are used with seitan which creates a very similar texture that we find in actual meat. It works perfectly as a substitute!
The problem is that seitan is made out of entirely gluten. So, if you're going gluten free AND vegan, these indulgences can seem few and far between.
On my gluten free journey, I decided to put together a list of some gluten free and vegan mock meats to assist future gluten free vegans!
Please be sure to check the lables, as this list is subject to change. When in doubt, verify that the product is gluten free using the certified gluten free label.

1. Beyond Meat
A classic meat alternative, Beyond Meat products are also gluten free. YAY! Most products can be found at your local grocery store, but most definitely at the nearest Whole Foods. If you're avoiding soy, these products all do not have any soy as well!
Beyond Beef
Beyond Sausage (I love this in a spicy pasta dish)
Beyond Burger
Beyond Breakfast Sausage
Beyond Beef Crumbles
So many options to choose from and all delicious!
2. Amy's Kitchen
Amy's website is awesome because they have an entire section where you can list your dietary preferences and filter the results. Amy's is another popular brand that is easy to find at any local grocery store, especially in NYC, but this site helps narrow it down even further to prepare you for your grocery trip! They even have gluten free and vegan pre-made pizza!
Organic Sonoma Veggie Burger
Veggie Loaf Meal (this one is a whole meal!)
3. Good Catch
If you're interested in vegan fish alternatives, Good Catch is the place to go! They have several delicious tuna options that make for a yummy tuna salad. Plus, it's gluten free and can be ordered off of amazon!
Fish-Free Tuna in Water
Fish-Free Tuna Oil & Herbs (my fave)
Fish-Free Tuna Mediterranean
4. LightLife
Another classic go-to of mine, I was relieved to find that a lot of LightLife products are gluten free! This is a very common vegan brand, so it should be available in the vegan section of your grocery store.
Burgers
Ground (delicious and cheaper alternatives to Beyond)
Breakfast Patties
Breakfast Links
Bratwurst Sausages
Italian Sausages
5. Gardein
An OG vegan brand, I've been seeing Gardein products in my fridge for years (my parents have always been vegetarian). Gardein offers a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan products so it's a relief to see some gluten free options in their product list. Plus, this brand can be easily found at most places, including Target!
Beefless Ground
Chick'n Scallopini
Chipotle Black Bean Burger (an OG fave)
Garden Veggie Burger
These are my favorite brands that have both gluten free AND vegan products available. Do you know of any other brands or products! Comment below and share this list!
