Police reunite missing Belmont 15-year-old with family

(BELMONT, Mass.) The Belmont Police Department announced Thursday that it had located Nya Brown, a 15-year-old who had been missing since Jan. 17, and reunited her with her family.

The police said in a statement, "Fifteen year old Nya Brown, who went missing on January 17, 2021, has been located and is reunited with her family. The Belmont Police would like to thank the numerous law enforcement agencies and individuals who helped to locate Nya."

According to Mass Live, Brown was found Thursday afternoon by investigators from the Belmont Police Department and the FBI Boston Division’s Child Exploitation-Human Trafficking Task Force as well as officers from Arlington, Boston and Dedham.

The department had sought the public's assistance in locating Brown and put out photographs and calls for information to try to find her.
