This past Friday signaled the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision resulting in an estimated 62 million abortions, according to The National Right to Life Committee (NRLTC), the nation’s oldest pro-life organization, which claims 62,502,904 unborn babies have been killed in that time frame.
The NRLTC reported that number by tracking data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Guttmacher Institute, which previously served as a research arm of the nation’s preeminent abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.
How many of those 62 million would have been gifted minds or outright geniuses? If they’re one in a million, we might have 62 more Elon Musks, Paul Allens, Jeff Bezos, etc. How many would have entertainers, athletes, scientists? And how many of the rest would have been working and paying taxes, contributing to Social Security?
Another example… People are outraged that some 400,000 Americans have died from Covid (although there is plenty of evidence this is an exaggerated number that blamed covid for deaths that actually occurred for other reasons). They call it a pandemic. The survival rate is at least 99% overall, I believe. Most years have seen about 1,000,000 abortions. The survival rate is almost none except for a rare occasion.
It’s hard even to comprehend these numbers, and it makes the number of murdered babies and the lack of horror over it on the part of the left (and some on the right) even more abhorrent. People need to really stop and think about it in this context. Maybe it will make the number of abortions real for some people.
