(ATLANTA) Hall of Famer and baseball legend Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron died Friday, according to CBS 46. He was 86.

Hammerin’ Hank’s 755 home runs remained atop baseball’s leaderboard until Barry Bonds surpassed him in 2007. Aaron remains baseball’s leader in runs batted in (2,297) and total bases (6,856).

He began his career with the then Milwaukee Braves in 1954 and continued to play for the Atlanta Braves up until 1974, the year he broke Babe Ruth’s home run record of 714.

Aaron was selected to 25 All-Star Games, won three Gold Gloves and won the National League MVP in 1957.

He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982 as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
