(ATLANTA) The COVID-19 pandemic brought the Broadway scene to a halt during 2020 but the stage lights are coming on as Atlanta announces the schedule for the 2021-22 season.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 40th season of Broadway in Atlanta is set to reset late summer 2021 with a marquee title.
The much-awaited play, Hamilton, which was set to return to Atlanta last March, will take place at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and will show for a month.
The entire roster of productions that were scheduled for the 2020-21 season will now play in 2021-22.
Customers that purchased and kept their tickets for “Hamilton” or the “Blue Man Group” shows are allowed to use them for new dates this season. These shows were the only sold single tickets on sale before being postponed.
The new dates for Broadway shows in Atlanta can be found below. All shows are set to take place at the Fox Theatre.
- “Hamilton”: Aug. 25-Sept. 26, 2021
- “Fiddler on the Roof”: Nov. 9-14, 2021
- “Tootsie”: Jan. 25-30, 2022
- “Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations”: March 8-13, 2022
- “Jesus Christ Superstar”: April 19-24, 2022
- “Disney’s Frozen”: June 2-12, 2022
- “Mean Girls”: July 19-24, 2022
