(NEW YORK) The New York Mets have a new face of the franchise.

The Cleveland Indians and Mets have finalized a trade that sends shortstop Francisco Lindor and pitcher Carlos Carrasco to New York, both teams confirmed Thursday.

Lindor is entering his seventh MLB season at 27 years old, is a four-time All Star and has won two Gold Gloves. Carrasco recently finished 2020 with a 2.91 ERA and placed fourth in the AL Cy Young race in 2017.

In exchange for Lindor and Carrasco, the Indians will receive four players: shortstop Andres Gimenez, pitcher Josh Wolf, outfielder Isaiah Greene and shortstop Amed Rosario.

Giminez played 49 games in 2020, finished seventh in the NL Rookie of the Year voting and was the team's top prospect in 2017. Wolf is the Mets' ninth-ranked prospect and Greene is the tenth, according to MLB.com's prospect rankings. Rosario has started at shortstop for the Mets since 2017.

The trade is the first significant move by new Mets owner Steve Cohen, who purchased the team on Nov. 6.

Lindor will return to free agency following the 2021 season.
