Boston University’s men’s basketball team wore masks on the court during their 83-76 win in their season opener against Holy Cross, according to CBS.

The masks were part of a Boston University policy put in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Holy Cross was not wearing masks for their game on Monday but will be on Tuesday when they play at Boston University’s Case Gym. Boston University has stated that opponents must wear masks while playing on their campus.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello said that the game on Tuesday will be the first college basketball game where both teams are wearing masks.

Both the Terriers and Crusaders play in the Patriot League, one of the first conferences to eliminate non-conference play this season.
