(KENOSHA, Wis.) Officials in Kenosha are preparing for unrest and protests amid the City Council's expected vote on an emergency declaration resolution in the event District Attorney Michael Graveley decides whether to charge the officer who shot Jacob Blake in August.

Graveley's decision could come at any time during the first two weeks of January, but the declaration would help the city prepare for violence, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

TMJ4 reports several businesses around the city have boarded up windows and doors in preparation.

The move comes months after the shooting, which left Blake paralyzed and caused large protests and millions of dollars worth in damage.

A Tuesday pretrial hearing is scheduled for Kyle Rittenhouse, a protestor who killed three people during a protest. Rittenhouse is charged with homicide, recklessly endangering safety, possessing a dangerous weapon and failure to comply with a curfew.

The Journal reports it's possible protesters might show up in Kenosha on Tuesday to show their support for Rittenhouse, as many did on Dec. 3.

On Sunday, Mayor John Antaramian implemented a curfew, reduced bus service, road closures and designation of space for demonstrations.
