New Year’s Eve looks a little different this year, as most bars and clubs can’t have their usual night-long celebration due to COVID-19. But, no one can stop you from having an absolutely relaxing night of binge-watching movies. Here are six movies to help you ring in the New Year, some even with the most perfect timing.

A Lot Like Love

Meeting that special someone is rare, especially for Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet’s characters who meet on a plane and can’t get the timing right. Celebrate the start of 2021 with this rollercoaster of a movie featuring a memorable New Year’s Eve kiss.

High School Musical

Get your head in the (New Year's Eve) game with Disney’s "High School Musical." It starts off right on the last day of the year and embarks on a musical love story. 2020 might have been a rough year, but Gabriella and Troy will make it alright.

About Time

This British rom-com with Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson is sure to warm your heart. McAdams and Gleeson play Mary and Tim, a couple with an interesting love story as Tim can travel through time. Start the movie right at 10:38 p.m. to see when Tim travels back to get the girl.

New Year’s Eve

Welcoming the start of 2021 can’t get more perfect than with "New Year’s Eve," an interconnected ensemble movie about love, celebration and resolutions in New York City. Your night can’t get any better than spending it with Josh Duhamel, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron, and more.

Twilight

No matter which way you spin it, "Twilight" marches to a beat of its own. With its stellar cast, ethereal blue tint and unique dialogue, "Twilight" is sure to usher in an interesting start to your New Year. Make it even more supernatural by starting the movie at 11:11 p.m. to begin the year right as Bella confronts Edward about being a vampire.

Poseidon

For the action lovers out there, nothing is better than watching "Poseidon," a movie about the ocean liner traveling across the transatlantic on New Year’s Eve. Almost 2,000 passengers find themselves in a perilous situation as an unexpected wave meets their ship and stars Emmy Rossum, Kurt Russell and Josh Lucas have to fight for their lives.
