(NEW YORK) The NBA fined Philadelphia president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey, $50,000 on Monday for a since-deleted tweet about Houston Rocket’s James Harden.
The tweet posted to Morey’s account on Dec. 20 celebrated the one-year anniversary of Harden breaking the Rockets' franchise assist record.
The league office said Morey violated the NBA's anti-tampering policy. Teams are typically prohibited from discussing players under contract with other teams.
