Arlington cancels Holiday Lights Parade, schedules virtual events instead

(ARLINGTON, Texas) The City of Arlington’s annual Holiday Lights Parade was canceled on Wednesday amid COVID-19 concerns, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Instead, virtual events are planned online, like a prerecorded Christmas tree lighting, Christmas carol sing-alongs, kids’ games and storytime with Mayor Jeff Williams, according to a city press release. The virtual events will be available for viewing on the parade’s Facebook page

Another holiday Arlington event the Texas Christkindl Market is available online through Dec. 23. 

The lights festival Luminova Holidays and Six Flags Over Texas’ Holiday in the Park are open as well.
