Georgia Nonprofit Goodwill Celebrates Grand Opening of New Store
Goodwill Southeast Georgia is set to open its first new Savannah location since 2016 with the grand opening of a Retail Store & Donation Center in the Savannah Crossing Shopping Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 9 a.m. to mark the occasion.
The nonprofit organization invites the community to celebrate with giveaways, food trucks, gift cards, and other special activities throughout the week. Shoppers can explore a new trove of secondhand treasures while contributing to a greater cause.
“This new store helps fund the work we do across the region,” said Jason Marshall, President and CEO of Goodwill Southeast Georgia. “When you shop and donate at this location, you are helping people across the region reach their goals and move from a job, to a better job, to a sustainable career.”
Proceeds from sales and donations support six Opportunity Centers, including the Savannah Opportunity Center on Sallie Mood Drive, offering free education, job training, and employment services.
In 2023, Goodwill Southeast Georgia assisted over 4,800 individuals, resulting in more than 600 job placements across 33 counties in Georgia and South Carolina.
