A new Publix grocery store, set to become one of the largest in the entire state, is poised to anchor an upcoming town center within northeast Florida’s sprawling SilverLeaf master-planned community.
Building permits have been issued for a 55,701-square-foot Publix and a 2,100-square-foot liquor store at 1975 Silverleaf Parkway—collectively valued at $9.15 million. The project will include outdoor seating and joins Publix’s growing list of innovative concepts, such as the Tampa store with a “Pours” café area and the Hollywood Beach location featuring a boat ramp.
A Master-Planned Community on the Rise
Spanning more than 11,000 acres—with roughly 4,000 of those devoted to nature preserves—SilverLeaf is rapidly transforming into one of the fastest-growing communities in northeast Florida. With 11 different homebuilderscrafting residences and a range of amenities to entice potential buyers, the development has the capacity for up to 16,300 homes once fully built.
Publix: One of the Largest in the State
While typical Publix locations range between 20,000 and 60,000 square feet, the new build will push the upper limit of that scale. According to Jacksonville Business Journal, Travis Hutson, senior vice president for the development firm behind SilverLeaf, confirmed this supersized store is designed to serve as the anchor of a future 165-acre town center. Hutson also estimated the SilverLeaf community’s overall economic impact on St. Johns County to be about $2 billion.

These figures come from Realtor.com, emphasizing the community’s appeal to a wide range of buyers.
With a cutting-edge Publix on track to open in the not-too-distant future, SilverLeaf looks primed to become a central hub of northeast Florida living—one where convenient shopping, abundant amenities, and diverse housing options come together in a single, expansive community.
