Entertainment Jobs Slashed as Florida Theme Park Restructures
LEGOLAND Florida is set to lay off 234 employees, primarily from its entertainment division, as part of a broader operational shift. The layoffs, revealed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act filing, will take effect on March 25.
Impacted positions include performers, managers, and technicians. Julia Estrada, LEGOLAND’s public relations director for North America, stated that the company is making strategic changes to enhance the guest experience in 2025, including adjustments in entertainment offerings.
“The decision to reduce the size of some of our teams was undoubtedly difficult, but these changes will allow the Resorts to operate more flexibly and responsively in a competitive market,” Estrada said.
Affected employees will see their health benefits expire on April 1. While LEGOLAND has not specified which entertainment offerings will be impacted, the layoffs highlight ongoing shifts within the theme park industry to balance costs with evolving visitor expectations.
